How does Renvfy help you identify rental fraud?

Rental frauds often happen in three ways:

  • Landlords use old or misleading photos.
  • Scammers post fake ads for properties that don’t exist.
  • Current tenants advertise and rent out a property without the landlord’s knowledge, take your money, and disappear.

The best way to avoid these scams is by visiting the property in person before signing anything. But what if you’re far away, maybe in another province or country? That’s where Renvfy steps in!

If you don’t have friends or family nearby to check the property for you, you can book a local viewer through Renvfy. Our viewers will visit the property at the scheduled time, give you a live video tour, and answer your questions. Afterward, they’ll upload pictures of key features to help you decide if the property is as advertised.

This way, you can make an informed decision before committing to anything.

Is Renvfy available worldwide?

Not yet! Renvfy is currently available in Ontario and Alberta, Canada. We’re planning to expand across Canada, North America, and eventually worldwide.

Does Renvfy guarantee a property viewing?

We’ll do our best to connect you with a viewer, but it depends on how many viewers are available in your area at your requested time. If no one accepts your request, we’ll suggest alternative times so you can reschedule with the landlord.

When will a viewer accept my request?

It usually takes 5 to 30 minutes for a viewer to accept your request. If no one is available, we’ll suggest other time slots so you can reschedule with the landlord.

Can I book a viewing outside of business hours?

Absolutely! You can book a viewing anytime—24/7, 365 days a year.

What happens if the landlord doesn’t show up for the appointment?

If the landlord doesn’t show up, the viewer will let you know and try to gather some information from people at the property (if possible). This could even be a red flag for a scam!

If it’s just a scheduling issue, you can work with the landlord to set up another appointment. While we can’t refund your fee in this case (as we still pay the viewer for their time), we might offer a discount for your next appointment.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel up to one hour before the appointment for a full refund. For cancellations within the last hour, we’ll refund half the fee.

Does Renvfy send reminders for appointments?

Yes, we’ll send you email reminders before the appointment. You’ll also get a calendar link in the confirmation email, so you can add the appointment to your favorite calendar app.

Can I book multiple appointments?

Of course! You can book as many appointments as you need through the Renvfy portal.

Will I be able to talk with my viewer before the appointment?

No, we block communication before the appointment as a scam-prevention measure. You can, however, fully interact during the live video tour.

Can I request a viewer who speaks my language?

Not yet, but we’re working on adding this feature soon!

Can I ask the viewer questions during the appointment?

Absolutely! You can ask them to show specific features or clarify any doubts about the property. Just remember, they’re not trained professionals—they’re like a helpful friend checking things out for you.

Can I ask the viewer’s opinion about the property?

Sure! Feel free to ask for their opinion, but treat it like advice from a friend. They’re not property experts but can share their honest impressions.

Can I later book the same viewer for future viewings?

We can’t guarantee you’ll get the same viewer again. Also, for your safety, we strongly recommend booking viewings only through the Renvfy app to avoid potential scams.

How can I join the video call?

At the appointment time, log into the Renvfy portal, go to the “My Viewings” tab, find your appointment under “Upcoming,” and click “Join Call.” If you encounter any connection issues, try cancelling and rejoining the call—it should fix the problem.

How can I access pictures of the property?

If you’ve chosen a package that includes pictures, the viewer will upload them to the portal after the call. You can access them under your viewing details. It may take the viewer around 15 minutes to upload the pictures.

Are pictures guaranteed in all inspections?

Not always. Pictures are included only in specific packages, and sometimes landlords might not allow pictures to be taken. If that happens, we’ll inform you, and you won’t be charged for this feature.

How long will photos be available on the portal?

Photos will stay on the portal for 3 weeks before being deleted.

Does Renvfy generate a report from the viewing?

Not yet, but we plan to offer this feature in the future!

Will the viewer test property features?

No, viewers won’t test features like appliances. You can ask them to check specific things during the video call, but remember, they’re not professionals.

Does Renvfy perform full property inspections?

Not currently, but this service is on our roadmap.

Can I rely on the viewer’s opinion to rent the property?

The viewer’s feedback is meant to help you make an informed decision. Think of it like advice from a friend, not an expert assessment.

How are the fees calculated?

We charge a flat fee per session—no hidden costs!

Do you charge a mileage fee?

Nope! Since our viewers are locals, there are no additional mileage fees.

How does Renvfy recruit viewers?

We don’t hire viewers directly. They’re independent contractors, similar to how drivers work with popular ride-sharing apps.

How can I join Renvfy as a viewer to earn money?

Easy! Just download the Renvfy Viewer app, sign up, and start accepting appointments.

How far in advance can I book a viewing?

You can book a property viewing up to one month in advance.

Can I reschedule an appointment?

If you need to reschedule, simply cancel your current appointment in the portal and create a new one for the updated date and time.

Can I request a viewing in rural or remote areas?

Yes, you can request a viewing anywhere within Renvfy’s current service area. We are continuously working to expand our coverage.

What happens if I am not satisfied with the viewer’s service?

Viewers are rated based on customer feedback and periodic random checks to ensure quality and reliability.
